Jabbor Kayumov has resigned as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Ncell, Nepal’s leading private telecom operator.

An Ncell employee, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed Kayumov’s resignation to New Business Age.

Notably, Ncell’s website now lists Syed MD Enamul Kabir as the Acting CEO and Chief Financial Officer (CFO). He joined Ncell as CFO in April 2025.

“Enam brings over two decades of diverse leadership experience across multiple industries and cultural landscapes, with a strong focus on strategic finance, business transformation, and corporate governance,” reads the profile.

Prior to joining Ncell, he served as Deputy Chief Executive Officer and CFO at UCB Fintech Company (UPAY) in Bangladesh.

Kayumov was appointed CEO and Managing Director of Ncell in May 2023.

At the 9th NewBiz Conclave and Business Excellence Awards held on June 26 in Kathmandu, Kayumov delivered a candid, wide-ranging assessment of Nepal’s declining telecommunications sector—warning that without bold, immediate reforms, the future of digital connectivity in the country “hangs in the balance.”
