The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index ended 0.64% higher Thursday, July 7, to close at 2,850.37 points after declining for two consecutive days–0.06% on Wednesday and 1.43% on Tuesday.
Daily turnover also surged to Rs 8.53 billion from Rs 7.63 billion the previous day, with over 25.40 million shares traded across 95,839 transactions.
All major indices closed in positive territory. The Sensitive Index and Sensitive Float Index each gained 0.53%, while the Float Index rose 0.54%.
Out of 249 companies traded on Thursday, 187 advanced and 62 declined.
Sikles Hydropower Limited (SIKLES) led the gainers, surging 9.81% to close at Rs 1,175.41 per share. Barun Hydropower Co. Ltd. (BARUN) followed closely, rising 9.78% to Rs 391.41 per share.
Unnati Sahakarya Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (USLB) was the biggest loser, falling 8.26% to Rs 2,432.02 per share.
Liberty Energy Company Limited (LEC) topped turnover charts with Rs 390.12 million, followed by Shivam Cements Ltd. (SHIVM) at Rs 369.38 million and Himalayan Reinsurance Limited (HRL) at Rs 232.87 million.
All 13 sectoral indices closed in the green. The Finance Index led with a 1.38% rise, followed by the Manufacturing and Processing Index at 1.12%, and the Others Index at 1.03%. The Investment Index recorded the smallest gain at 0.30%.
Total market capitalization surged to Rs 4,757.76 billion from Rs 4,727.21 billion on Wednesday.
