The tech and business carnival “Presidential Innovista 2025” is underway in Kathmandu.
Around 170 BSc IT students are showcasing 50 projects covering AI, software and web development, cybersecurity, and multimedia. Organisers say the innovations have strong technical and commercial potential.
Highlights include an FPV drone for flower showers, Robo Soccer, a dancing robot, an AI-based facial emotion recognition system that recommends music, the Danphe operating system, an electric bike, a smart home system that shuts off gas leaks and triggers alarms, and disaster alert systems for earthquakes, floods, and landslides.
Students have also developed an application that provides tools to analyse and predict stock prices in the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), smart irrigation systems, tourism promotion software, and autonomous vehicles with 360-degree cameras that can be remotely controlled. The drone is planned for upgrade for future use in delivery services.
The event is organised under the affiliation of Westcliff University, USA, at the Presidential Graduate School, Thapagaun, Baneshwor, Kathmandu. The aim, says Executive Chairman Laxman KC, is to present the best student projects.
The exhibition is free to the public and runs until Sunday.
