State-owned Agriculture Inputs Company Limited (AICL) has announced that it currently holds more than 771,000 bags of chemical fertilizer in stock across its warehouses and regional offices.
According to a statement issued on Monday, the company’s inventory includes 516,862 bags of urea, 159,397 bags of DAP, and 94,923 bags of potash. These fertilizers are being distributed regularly through AICL’s provincial and branch networks.
The company further reported that an additional 600,000 bags are on the way to Nepal. Out of 1.2 million bags procured through global tenders and a government-to-government (G2G) agreement with India via Kolkata, half have already reached AICL warehouses, while the remaining shipment is in transit.
Fertilizer is distributed nationwide through approximately 7,000 cooperatives and partner organizations. In the last fiscal year, AICL supplied 192,478 tons of urea, 131,249.95 tons of DAP, and 11,248.40 tons of potash, marking an increase of 80,580.20 tons compared to the previous year.
In the first month of the current fiscal year 2025/26 (mid-July to mid-August 2025), sales have already reached 432,805 bags of urea, 337,097 bags of DAP, and 14,508 bags of potash.
AICL said it remains focused on ensuring a smooth supply of fertilizers to farmers ahead of the key agricultural seasons.
