BYD Launches Atto 2 Electric SUV

The vehicle is priced at Rs 4.39 million and will be available in a single variant

Following the launch of the Atto 1 (Seagull) at the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2025 on August 6, Chinese automaker BYD has launched the Atto 2, its latest compact electric SUV in Nepal.

BYD’s official distributor, Cimex Inc, unveiled the vehicle at the NADA Auto Show 2025, which began at Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu on Tuesday, August 19.

The Atto 2, a global version of the BYD Yuan Up first introduced in China in 2024, is built on the company’s e-Platform 3.0. It features BYD’s blade battery with cell-to-body technology, a 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen, and has earned a five-star safety rating.

The vehicle measures 4,310 mm in length, 1,830 mm in width and 1,675 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,620 mm. It is powered by a 100 kW motor delivering 290 Nm of torque and is fitted with a 45.1 kWh battery that provides a driving range of 312 km on a full charge, according to the company.

Standard features include seven airbags, a panoramic sunroof, LED headlights, vegan leather seats, a 360-degree camera, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), NFC keyless entry, over-the-air updates, and vehicle-to-load (V2L) power supply. Boot space is 400 litres.

The Atto 2 is priced at Rs 4.39 and will be available in a single variant.
