A construction company has expressed serious concern over what it called misleading information, from the local level to parliament, about the planned installation of a world-class asphalt batch mix plant by Ammann Company in Panchkhal, Kavre.
Organising a press conference in Dhulikhel on Wednesday, Bandan Bhagwati Nirman Sewa Pvt Ltd, the contractor responsible for setting up the plant, claimed that the facility is fully environment friendly and noted that similar plants have already been successfully established in various parts of Nepal.
The company’s Managing Director Ramji Pant said that with today’s information technology, anyone can quickly access accurate details about construction equipment. He added that it was ironic that misinformation about the Panchkhal plant had influenced local residents, educated youth, intellectuals, local representatives, federal parliamentarians, and even the media.
Pant clarified that the plant is intended to support road construction within Panchkhal Municipality, including the nationally significant Surya Binayak–Sanga–Dhulikhel road and the proposed Dhulikhel–Khawa road.
He also highlighted Ammann Company’s global reputation in the construction industry. “Established 150 years ago, Ammann is renowned worldwide for its asphalt batch mix plants, which use Swiss technology and meets European standards. Today, the company employs fully environment-friendly practices and remains the preferred choice for quality construction projects globally,” Pant said.
According to Pant, Ammann produces over 280 types of construction machinery and equipment and operates plants in more than 100 countries. The company also collaborates with over 200 dealers and partners worldwide, underscoring its credibility and environmental commitment.
In light of challenges in Nepal’s construction sector, including delayed payments, impractical regulations, and fragile economic conditions, the company urged stakeholders to refrain from making statements without evidence, as such remarks could undermine the morale of contractors working to complete projects on time.
Binod Neupane, president of Kavre chapter of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), called for cooperation among all parties to promote development and infrastructure projects.
During the event, a video presentation showcased the technical and environmental aspects of Ammann’s asphalt batch mix plant, confirming its eco-friendly operations.
