The 17th edition of the NADA Auto Show concluded on Sunday at Bhrikutimandap, drawing over 160,000 visitors, according to organizers -- the NADA Automobiles Association of Nepal. The weeklong exhibition, inaugurated by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on August 19, showcased the latest developments in the automobile industry.
This year’s show featured 135 stalls, with 30 new vehicle models officially launched during the event. Major attractions included a Chinese-imported flying taxi, advanced Unitree robots, electric and hybrid vehicles, as well as a wide range of auto parts and accessories. Major brands also offered booking options for vehicles, tires, and batteries, alongside festive-season promotional discounts.
NADA President Karan Chaudhary highlighted that the exhibition has consistently marked milestones in the country’s automobile sector. He emphasized Nepal’s need to embrace new technology and manufacturing capabilities, describing the show as “a gateway to the vision of a prosperous future Nepal.”
At the closing ceremony, Minister for Health and Population Pradip Paudel awarded producers with outstanding exhibition stalls. He noted that the automobile industry remains a key revenue contributor to Nepal and underlined the importance of such platforms in building consumer trust. The minister also called for greater focus on domestic production, road safety, and environmentally friendly vehicles.
Event Coordinator Anup Kumar Baral credited the show’s popularity to its diverse offerings under one roof, ranging from automobiles, lubricants, and spare parts to financial and insurance services. He remarked that visitor turnout exceeded expectations, reaffirming the auto show’s status as one of Nepal’s most anticipated industry events.
