The Investment Board Nepal (IBN) has approved the draft Project Licence for the 669 MW Lower Arun Hydropower Project and authorised its Chief Executive Officer to issue it.
The decision was taken at IBN’s 66th board meeting, chaired by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, on Friday, August 29.
The meeting also endorsed the draft Direct Agreement for the under-construction Arun-3 Hydropower Project in Sankhuwasabha and decided to recommend its submission to the Council of Ministers for approval.
Likewise, the board authorised its CEO to negotiate with the proponent company and issue a survey licence for the proposed Auto Service Eco-Industrial Park Project, which had been submitted as an unsolicited proposal.
According to IBN Spokesperson Pradyumna Prasad Upadhyay, the meeting also approved proposals to request temporary staffing positions for the board’s office for the current fiscal year, 2025/26.
