Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Dr. Biswonath Poudel has emphasized the need for political stability, a business-friendly environment, and stronger private-sector confidence to revive the national economy.
Welcoming the new executive committee of the Society of Economic Journalists of Nepal (SEJON) on Thursday, Poudel said reforms in the economic system are essential to protect entrepreneurs. He noted that unclear laws have created complications in some areas, stressing that legal clarity is key to overcoming current economic challenges.
Poudel also cautioned media professionals against spreading misinformation, underscoring the risks of inaccurate reporting.
Addressing the reconstruction of structures damaged during the recent Gen Z protests, he said there would be no shortage of resources for rebuilding, provided governance and administrative efficiency improve.
“The government has no option but to boost the morale of the private sector, as many commercial buildings were heavily damaged,” Poudel said. “Our priority should also be to attract foreign investment by creating a conducive environment. If we work together, the national economy can regain vibrancy within a few years.” -- RSS
