The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) has announced that the rain-causing low-pressure monsoon system has exited Nepal.

Issuing a press release on Sunday afternoon, the Department stated that although the system has moved away and the weather has begun to improve, the public is advised to remain cautious against possible monsoon-induced disasters in the current situation.

The low-pressure system, which had developed over the Bay of Bengal, had remained active from October 3 until Sunday morning, affecting several parts of the country.

Continuous rainfall in central and eastern Nepal on October 3 to 5 left at least 42 people dead and caused losses worth Rs 100 million to irrigation projects and infrastructure. -- With inputs from RSS
