The death toll from floods and landslides triggered by incessant rainfall across the country since Friday night has reached 60, according to the Armed Police Force (APF).
APF’s Deputy Spokesperson, DSP Shailendra Thapa, said that among the deceased are 19 men, 26 women, and 15 children. Ilam District recorded the highest number of fatalities, with 37 deaths — including 13 men, 14 women, and 10 children.
Similarly, eight people lost their lives in Panchthar, three each in Udayapur and Rautahat, two in Khotang, and one each in Sunsari, Morang, Sindhuli, and Mahottari districts.
In addition, one minor died in Sindhupalchowk, while two women were found dead in Kavrepalanchowk, the APF reported. -- RSS
