October 5: Nepal Telecom (NT) is set to become the first telecommunications company in the country to operate 4G service. The Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA) has recently approved NT's application for 4G and asked for detail rollout plan.
The NTA has asked to submit a detail rollout plan to operate 4G services on October 2. Earlier NT has announced to operate 4G services to its customers within two months after getting approval from NTA.
Meanwhile, NTA informed that it has sought detail plan from NT to begin 4G service in Nepal. It further said that it will only permit the 4G licence to any company after they study the rollout plan and convinced with its strategy.
