Two weeks after its global debut, the iPhone 17 series has arrived in Nepal—earlier than expected. Generation Next Communication Pvt. Ltd. (GenXT), Apple’s authorized importer and distributor in Nepal, had planned to unveil the lineup between October 10 and 12. Instead, the launch was fast-tracked and the phones hit shelves on Friday, September 26. “It was all due to a sudden plan; everything happened within 24 hours,” Bikash Gadia, General Manager at GenXT, told New Business Age.
As part of the launch promotion, every iPhone 17 purchase comes with a complimentary 20W original adapter and a Shield Pro for protection. On top of that, 117 customers stand to win prizes: 17 lucky buyers will receive an Apple Watch Series 11, while 100 will walk away with AirPods 4.
The iPhone craze in Nepal is undeniable—and growing stronger each year. For many students, teens, and young professionals, owning an iPhone is a badge of status and aspiration. Despite the hefty price tag, buyers stretch their budgets or turn to second-hand devices to access the Apple ecosystem. Each new launch floods social media with unboxing videos, reviews, and heated discussions, fueling the obsession further.
On September 9, Apple unveiled the iPhone 17 lineup and the iPhone Air—its slimmest phone ever. With sleeker designs, stronger performance, and next-gen camera upgrades, the devices are engineered to keep Apple’s loyal fanbase hooked.
The iPhone 17 family includes the standard iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max, alongside the ultra-slim iPhone Air. Sales in India began earlier this month, with prices starting at INR 82,900 for the iPhone 17 and INR 119,900 for the iPhone Air. The Pro and Pro Max models are priced at INR 134,900 and INR 149,900, respectively.
