Tihar Flora Expo Concludes with Rs 10 Million Turnover

The third Tihar Flora Expo concluded on Saturday, recording transactions worth Rs 10 million.

The five-day event, organized by the Nursery Association of Nepal at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu, attracted more than 35,000 visitors, according to Laxmi Maharjan, Vice President of the Association and Coordinator of the Expo.

Former Environment Minister Ganesh Sah, speaking at the closing ceremony, stressed the need for collective efforts to support the “Protect the Environment” campaign.

Similarly, actress Manisha Koirala highlighted the importance of conserving and promoting traditional and indigenous plants, saying such initiatives help maintain ecological balance.

Association President Ramji Prasad Timilsina expressed the Association’s commitment to give priority to traditional and indigenous nursery plants in the next edition of the expo.

According to the organisers, the expo featured a total of 70 stalls, including 62 commercial stalls and four stalls from the Department of Plant Resources and the Floriculture Development Centre. -- RSS
