The government’s Physical Infrastructure Reconstruction Fund, set up to rebuild public property damaged by arson and vandalism during the Gen-Z protests on September 8 and 9, has so far collected Rs 61 million, according to Finance Ministry Spokesperson Tanka Prasad Panday.
The government had appealed to the public, private sector, Non-Resident Nepalis (NRNs), development partners, and donor agencies to contribute.
A dedicated account for the fund has been opened at the Singha Durbar branch of Rastriya Banijya Bank.
According to the ministry, preparations are underway to publish the list of contributors soon.
