NEPSE Slips 0.80 Percent

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index fell by 0.80%, or 20.56 points, on Wednesday, November 12, closing at 2,544.59. This follows a modest 0.12% gain in the previous trading session.

Despite the decline, market turnover increased to Rs 3.84 billion, up from Rs 3.62 billion on Tuesday. A total of 8,404,616 shares changed hands through 66,824 transactions.

All major sub-indices ended lower. The Sensitive Index dropped 0.74%, the Float Index fell 0.76%, and the Sensitive Float Index declined 0.72%.

Out of the traded securities, 49 advanced, 198 declined, and 7 remained unchanged.

Among the 13 sectoral indices, only Manufacturing and Processing closed higher, gaining 0.23%. The Trading Index recorded the sharpest loss, plunging 2.35%.

Bhugol Energy Development Company Limited (BEDC) and Sagar Distillery Limited (SAGAR) topped the gainers’ list, each surging 10%. In contrast, Daramkhola Hydro Energy Limited (DHEL) was the day’s biggest loser, tumbling 8.72%.

In terms of turnover, NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited (NRN) led the market, followed by Radhi Bidyut Company Limited (RADHI) and Sahas Urja Limited (SAHAS).

Overall market capitalization declined to Rs 4,271.24 billion, down from Rs 4,305.76 billion on Tuesday.
