The Embassy of Nepal in Portugal has urged Nepali nationals at home and abroad to stay alert against fraudulent job offers promising employment opportunities in Portugal.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, November 12, the embassy said that the Portuguese government has stopped issuing all categories of work visas except for highly skilled jobs, effective October 23, 2025, following an amendment to its work visa regulations.
The embassy warned that despite the new restrictions, reports have surfaced of Nepalis in Nepal and in several countries, including those in the Middle East, being deceived by agents and brokers claiming to arrange employment in Portugal.
