The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has demolished several structures built by Khadka Land Developer Pvt. Ltd., owned by Nepali Congress leader and former Energy Minister Deepak Khadka, on land belonging to Nepal Scouts in Lainchaur.

Nepal Scouts had issued a seven-day notice on November 6 to the developer, demanding payment of outstanding dues. After the company failed to clear the arrears by Wednesday, the organisation requested KMC to take action.

According to Raju Pandey, Chief of the Metropolitan Police, the party palace and restaurants constructed on the site had no approved building blueprints from the municipal authority.
