The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China (HKSAR) has lifted the transit visa requirement for Nepali passport holders, provided they remain within the airport’s transit area.

In a statement issued on Friday, November 14, the Consulate General of Nepal said the revised provision will take effect from Saturday, November 15.

Hong Kong had required Nepali nationals to obtain a transit visa for travel through Hong Kong International Airport since June 2005.
