The Department of Transport Management (DoTM) will now publish details of driving licences that have been printed and are ready for distribution on its official Facebook page.

In a notice issued on Thursday, the department said that information on licences printed by the Security Printing Centre and delivered to the department for distribution will be uploaded to its Facebook page, ‘Hello Yatayat Byabastha Bibhag’.

“The previous system, which notified applicants to collect their licence within 72 hours after the online form status was marked ‘approved’, had stopped functioning after the system collapsed,” the notice said. “Now, details of licences that have been printed by the Security Printing Centre and received by the department will be published on the department’s Facebook page.”

Previously, applicants would receive a system-generated message instructing them to visit the department within 72 hours to collect their licence. However, that notification system became defunct due to the Gen Z protests.

The department has requested applicants whose names appear on the Facebook list to visit the office with the original revenue receipt and their old driving licence. -- RSS
