The “Craft and Culture Festival 2025” will open in Lalitpur on Wednesday, December 3.
Jointly organised by the Federation of Handicraft Associations of Nepal (FHAN), Lalitpur Metropolitan City-16, and Patan Museum, the festival aims to promote Nepali art, culture, and traditional handicrafts.
The event will run until December 7 at Patan Durbar Square and the Patan Museum premises. Organisers said the festival will feature about 21 canopy stalls and 10 table stalls. It will open daily from 10 AM to 7 PM. Entry will be free.
The Handicraft Promotion Committee of Lalitpur Metropolitan City-16 will showcase jewellery and ethnic costumes used in the ten rites of Buddhism. The local cultural committee will present classical music, Charya dance, Ashtamatrika dance, Kartik dance, along with Nepal Bhasa folk dances and songs, accompanied by traditional Dha Baja and Damokhi Baja performances.
In partnership with the International Mask Arts & Culture Organization (IMACO), South Korea, the FHAN will host a mask exhibition. It will display 100 handcrafted masks, including 60 from Nepal and 40 from South Korea.
Organisers have also arranged three stalls offering traditional Newari dishes for visitors.
