The Nagdhunga–Malekhu road section will be partially closed for one week to facilitate ongoing upgrading works.
According to the Nagdhunga–Muglin Road Project, vehicular movement will be halted for five hours daily—from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm—from December 10 to 16. Traffic will be stopped at Piplamod on the Nagdhunga side and at Pokharebhir on the Malekhu side.
The Project has urged motorists to use alternative routes during the period. Small and medium–sized vehicles have been advised to use the Sitapaila–Bhimdhunga–Ramkot–Dharke route. Other options include the Samakhusi–Tokha–Chhahare–Galchhi route and the Jarekhet–Trishuli–Ghatbesi bridge route.
The upgrading of the Nagdhunga–Naubise section of the Tribhuvan Highway is nearing completion following blacktopping works.
Project engineer Keshav Ojha said the partial closure is necessary as the mobilization of heavy equipment and materials at once could increase the risk of accidents. -- RSS
