NOC Slashes Prices of Diesel and Kerosene, Hikes Petrol Price

Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has reduced the prices of diesel and kerosene oil by Rs 4 per litre with effect from Tuesday, December 16. However, the state-run oil monopoly has increased the price of petrol by Rs 2 per litre.    

With the price adjustment, the prices of diesel and kerosene have now been fixed at Rs 139.50 per liter for the first category areas, Rs 141 for the second category and Rs 142 for the third category.

Similarly, the prices of petrol have been fixed at Rs 160.50, Rs 162 and Rs 163 for the first, second and third category regions respectively.    

The NOC has categorized depots in Charali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amlekhgunj, Bhalbari, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi and Birgunj in the first category; Surkhet and Dang as the second category; and Kathmandu, Pokhara and Dipayal in the third category. The revised retail rates apply within a 15-kilometre radius of the respective depots.

The prices of aviation fuel and cooking gas have been kept unchanged.    

According to the NOC, its board meeting revised the prices based on the new purchase rates received from Indian Oil Corporation, its sole supplier.
