The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) rose 0.21 percent or 5.70 points on Wednesday, closing at 2,625.70. On Tuesday, the index had surged 0.70 percent.
Monday had ended a two-week losing streak for the benchmark index, which had posted only one gain of 0.28 percent last Tuesday.
Market turnover also increased, reaching Rs 4.053 billion on Wednesday, up from Rs 3.29 billion on Tuesday and Rs 3.44 billion on Monday.
Of the traded securities, 143 advanced, 104 declined, and 11 remained unchanged.
All three major sub-indices closed in positive territory. The Sensitive Index gained 0.26 percent, while both the Float Index and Sensitive Float Index rose 0.29 percent.
Swastik Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (SWASTIK) led the gainers, hitting the upper circuit limit, followed by SY Panel Nepal Limited (SYPNL) with a 9.99 percent rise. Barahi Hydropower Public Limited (BHPL) posted the steepest loss, hitting the lower circuit limit.
Union Hydropower Limited (UNHPL) dominated the turnover chart with Rs 227.85 million, followed by Manjushree Finance Ltd. (MFIL) and Ngadi Group Power Ltd. (NGPL).
Among 13 sectoral indices, three ended in the red. Hotels and Tourism dropped 0.37 percent, Non-Life Insurance fell 0.36 percent, and Trading Index lost 0.37 percent. Finance Index was the top gainer, surging 1.75 percent, while the rest of the sectoral indices rose by less than 1 percent.
