Gold Price Hits Record High at Rs 267,200 per Tola

The price of gold in the domestic market of Nepal increased to an all-time high of  Rs 267,200 per tola (11.66 grams) on Tuesday, December 23, rising by Rs 5,500 per tola compared to the previous trading day.

Gold was traded at Rs 261,700 per tola on Monday, according to the Federation of Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, which fixes daily gold and silver prices in the domestic market based on international rates.

Gold prices in the domestic market of Nepal have remained on an upward trajectory for several weeks, with only brief corrections. The latest surge reflects global market trends, as investors increasingly turn to gold as a safe-haven asset amid heightened geopolitical tensions and broader economic uncertainty, according to international media reports.

The price of silver also increased on Tuesday, climbing by Rs 20 per tola to Rs 4,255. Silver was traded at Rs 4,235 per tola a day earlier.
