Embassy Urges Nepalis Aspiring to Work in UK to Stay Alert Against Job Scams

The Embassy of Nepal in London has urged Nepali citizens to remain alert amid a rise in fraud cases involving fake job offers and work permit promises in the United Kingdom.

In a press statement, the Embassy said it received several complaints related to fraudulent job sponsorships and warned Nepalis against falling for such schemes in the UK.

According to the Embassy, fraudsters have targeted a large number of people seeking to travel to the UK from Nepal. Some Nepali jobseekers already residing in the UK have also fallen victim to these scams.

The Embassy advised victims to file complaints with local police units or the National Anti-Fraud Network in the UK, as well as with relevant investigative agencies in Nepal. It said authorities in both countries treat such offences as punishable crimes. -- RSS
