NEPSE Index Inches Up Marginally

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index closed marginally higher on Wednesday, January 14, gaining 1.52 points, or 0.05 percent, to close at 2,641.43.

The benchmark index traded within a narrow range throughout the session before ending slightly above the previous day’s figures.

A total of 125 stocks advanced during the session, while 124 declined and 11 remained unchanged.

Market turnover stood at Rs 6.21 billion, with 12.50 million shares traded through 72,671 transactions. In total, shares of 320 listed companies were traded during the session.

The Sensitive Index slipped 0.13 points to close at 454.73, while the Sensitive Float Index declined by 0.07 points to 154.96 while the Float Index remained unchanged at 181.24.

Radhi Bidyut Company Ltd topped the turnover chart with transactions worth Rs 262.40 million, followed by Union Hydropower Limited with Rs 232.67 million and SY Panel Nepal Limited with Rs 220.19 million.

On the gainers’ side, Super Madi Hydropower Limited led the chart, surging 9.94 percent to close at Rs 594.80. Three Star Hydropower Limited rose 8.23 percent, while NMB Microfinance Bittiya Sanstha Ltd also posted notable gains.
