Nepal observed the 28th National Earthquake Safety Day on January 16 with a range of earthquake awareness programmes across the country.
The day commemorates the devastating 8.3-magnitude earthquake of 1934, which claimed the lives of more than 8,500 people nationwide.
An earthquake safety exhibition began at Khula Manch in Kathmandu to promote awareness of risk reduction, preparedness and safe behaviour during earthquakes. It will continue until Saturday.
