The Office of the Investment Board Nepal (OIBN) has initiated preparatory work to establish a “One Stop Service Centre” aimed at streamlining and expediting service delivery for investors.
Joint Secretary Hemraj Tamang has been appointed to coordinate the Centre. To support its operation, 14 government ministries, departments and agencies — including the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport and the Ministry of Forests and Environment — have designated focal persons with delegated authority, the OIBN said. The Board added that other relevant agencies may also appoint focal persons as required.
The OIBN has already prepared a draft operating procedure for the Centre in coordination with the concerned ministries, departments and agencies.
Investment Board Nepal Chief Executive Officer Sushil Gyewali said services would be delivered from a single location only after arrangements for a new office are completed and the operating procedure is finalised, as the Board’s office was damaged by arson during the Gen Z movement. He said the Centre would operate through automated systems, underscoring the importance of technology in service delivery.
Once fully implemented, the Centre is expected to significantly reduce the need for investors to visit multiple government agencies.
According to Tamang, the designated focal persons will be responsible for facilitating coordination and providing timely feedback on files and correspondence received from the Board.
