Nepal came within a whisker of stunning England, losing by four runs in a pulsating ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 match at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, India, on Sunday, February 8.

Defending 184, England held Nepal to 180/6 in 20 overs. Sam Curran conceded just five runs in the final over, when Nepal needed 10 to win.

While fans from Nepal and several other countries filled the stands at Wankhede, thousands back home gathered at public spaces to watch the historic contest on big screens.

In the Kathmandu Valley, live screenings were organised at Tundikhel, Tinkune, Nandikeshwar Garden, Siphal Chaur, in front of the Juddha Statue, Makhan Chowk, Handigaun Dabali and Pimbahal.

Nepal will play all four group matches at the same venue. They face Italy on February 12, West Indies on February 15, and Scotland on February 17.
