The World Bank on Thursday launched the Nepal Fiscal Dashboard, an online platform designed to provide consolidated and easy access to the country’s public finance data across federal, provincial and local levels.

The fiscal dashboard is a digital, interactive platform that compiles key government financial data—such as budget allocations, revenue collection, recurrent and capital expenditure, and overall fiscal management—into a single, user-friendly interface. It allows users to analyse financial information from multiple fiscal years and from different perspectives, helping improve transparency and evidence-based policymaking.

According to the World Bank, the dashboard includes detailed data on income, spending and fiscal management of the federal government, provinces and local governments. The information can be viewed and analysed through various filters and formats. The platform was developed following consultations with the government, civil society and development partners.

Users can access the dashboard through the World Bank’s official website. The platform also provides a user manual to facilitate easy navigation and understanding of the data.

Speaking at the launch event, Hikmat Bahadur Bhandari, under-secretary at the Ministry of Finance, said the initiative would be highly useful and added that the government is also preparing to develop its own public financial management dashboard within the next year.

Former Vice-Chairperson of the National Planning Commission Shivaraj Adhikari said the dashboard would benefit stakeholders, policymakers, researchers, journalists and students by providing accessible and reliable fiscal data.

World Bank Public Sector Specialist Yasuhiro Saito expressed hope that the dashboard would serve a wide range of users and noted that it would be further refined based on user feedback. -- RSS
