The Nepal Army marked its 263rd Army Day on Sunday, February 15, coinciding with the auspicious festival of Maha Shivaratri. The annual celebration highlights the army’s history, discipline, and service to the nation.
As in previous years, a special ceremony was held at the Army Pavilion in Tundikhel, featuring ceremonial parades, drills, exhibitions of weapons and equipment, parachute jumps, and musical performances by the army band.
The event was observed by President Ram Chandra Poudel, the Supreme Commander of the Nepal Army, along with Vice President Ram Shaya Yadav, Prime Minister Sushila Karki, senior state officials, and security personnel.
Members of the public and tourists also gathered at vantage points around the area, including the nearby Dharahara, to watch the celebrations unfolding at Tundikhel.
