Nepal on Thursday, February 19, celebrated the 76th Democracy Day, commemorating the end of the 104-year-long autocratic Rana rule and the advent of democratic governance.
A special ceremony was held at the Army Pavilion in Tundikhel, Kathmandu, to mark the occasion.
President Ramchandra Paudel, Vice President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister Sushila Karki, National Assembly Chairperson Narayan Prasad Dahal, ministers, senior government officials, and heads and representatives of diplomatic missions in Nepal attended the programme.
The celebrations featured march-pasts by the Nepal Army, the Armed Police Force, and the Nepal Police, along with cultural performances by various ethnic groups.
