Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) issued a six-point instruction to Nepalis in Iran and Israel on Saturday afternoon, February 28, after the US and Israel launched an attack in Iran. Iran has retaliated, targeting Israel and the US bases in the middle east, according to international media reports.
Saying that it was closely monitoring the evolving situation in the region, MoFA has advised Nepali nationals residing in those countries to take the following precautionary measures:
1. Strictly adhere to the security advisories and instructions issued by the competent authorities of Israel and Iran.
2. Remain indoors as much as possible, stay vigilant, exercise due caution, and maintain regular contact with the Nepali community in your respective locations.
3. Refrain from traveling without prior authorization from the relevant authorities of Israel and Iran.
4. Maintain regular communication with the Ministry in Kathmandu, the Embassy of Nepal in Tel Aviv, and the Embassy of Nepal in Doha in the contact details provided below.
5. Nepali nationals planning to travel to Israel or Iran are strongly advised to defer their travel plans until the situation in both countries stabilizes.
6. Nepali nationals residing and working in other Middle Eastern countries are advised to constantly monitor developments and follow precautionary measures as suggested by the competent authorities of the respective countries.
