Nepali Congress Vice President Bishwa Prakash Sharma has said the party accepts the voters’ verdict. Vote counting is underway for the House of Representatives election held on March 5. In most constituencies where counting is underway, candidates of the Rastriya Swatantra Party are leading. Against this backdrop, Sharma said the party respects the decision of the voters.
“The voters’ verdict is acceptable. With the same restraint with which we welcomed the Maoists who emerged through the ‘bullet’, we welcome the RSP that is now emerging through the ‘ballot’,” he wrote today on the social media platform X.
“Given the signals seen in 2022, this is not entirely unexpected. High expectations should not turn into another disappointment. On the country’s fundamental issues, there will be both cooperation and vigilance,” he added.
