Vote counting has begun in Sarlahi Constituency 4. The process started at around 10:15 am in the constituency where Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa is a candidate.

In the first phase, counting began with ballots cast in Wards 3, 5, 6, 7, 10 and 11 of Balara Municipality. Balara is the home turf of Rastriya Swatantra Party candidate Dr Amaresh Kumar Singh.

As these wards are widely considered Singh’s stronghold, there is growing interest in how the early results will unfold. A close contest is expected in the constituency between Thapa and Singh. Security has been tightened at the counting centre, and the tally is being conducted carefully in the presence of representatives from political parties.
