UML’s Nembang Takes Early Lead in Ilam-2

CPN (UML) candidate Suhang Nembang has taken an early lead in Ilam Constituency No. 2, securing 491 votes.

Sudip Rai of the Shram Sanskriti Party is following closely with 441 votes, while Bhesraj Acharya of the Nepali Congress is in third place with 210 votes.

Gokul Bahadur Rai of the Rastriya Swatantra Party has received 171 votes, followed by Om Gurung of the Nepali Communist Party with 51 votes, election officials said.

The constituency has 119,489 registered voters. Among them, 33,049 women, 33,885 men, and one voter from the “others” category cast their ballots.

A total of 14 candidates — including one independent — from 13 political parties are contesting the seat.
