Consumers queue to buy cooking gas cylinders at the Nepal Oil Corporation office in Teku, Kathmandu, on Sunday, March 15. The corporation has arranged LPG sales within its premises to ease supply.

The NOC has urged the public not to hoard liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders. Dealers have been instructed to keep records of buyers’ names, contact numbers and quantities sold, and submit the details daily to the corporation through the concerned industries.

Since last Friday, the NOC has made available half-filled cylinders of 7.1 kg at half the price — Rs 955 per cylinder — until further notice.

Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Metropolitan City has warned of action against those involved in black-market trading of LPG, diesel and petrol by creating an artificial shortage.
