TIME magazine has named Mountain Lodges of Nepal – Manang among the World’s Greatest Places to Stay in 2026.
Managed by Sherpa Hospitality Group, the lodge offers a cozy base for travellers in the stunning Manang Valley, at an altitude of 3,448 metres in the Annapurna Circuit.
Unlike traditional trekking, where travellers move between different lodges each night, MLN Manang introduces a “base camp” concept. Guests stay in one location and explore the surrounding mountains through curated day hikes, cultural visits, and nature walks, returning each evening to modern comforts such as heated rooms, ensuite bathrooms, hot showers, and quality cuisine.
The Manang Valley is renowned for its breathtaking alpine scenery, glacial lakes, and traditional Himalayan villages.
“Perched above the yak-dotted Marsyangdi River valley, Mountain Lodges of Nepal’s 14-room, stone-built Manang Lodge is the first upscale accommodation in the region,” says TIME. “From the lodge, guests can explore Manang village, the 600-year-old Braga Monastery, glacial lakes, sacred meditation caves, and quieter routes like Annapurna IV’s lower base camp, where Manang Lodge hosts a stellar picnic lunch.”
Mountain Lodges of Nepal is a family-owned collection of lodges along the Great Himalaya Trails. For more than 30 years, they have provided accommodation and guided experiences across the Everest, Annapurna, and Manang regions while supporting local communities and preserving traditional mountain hospitality.
This recognition by TIME highlights Manang’s growing appeal as a destination that combines Himalayan adventure with comfort and cultural authenticity.
