December 13: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has issued Treasury bill worth Rs 2.5 billion. National Loan Management Department under the central bank issued the Treasury bills in order to obtain internal debt on behalf of the government. The bank sold the 91 days Treasury bills on December 12 through on-line auction trading. The Treasury bills will mature on coming March 14. The central bank informed that the 15 per cent of total proposed amount will be for non-competitor auctioneers.
Previously, NRB issued Rs 2.13 billion worth Treasury bills on November 29 upon which Rs 9.69 billion amount was claimed. The Treasury bills were discounted on 1.9709 per cent. On the issuance, the auctioneers proposed the highest 2.0699 per cent and the lowest 1.9709 per cent discount rate.
