NEPSE to Facilitate Single Share Trading

December 14: Nepal Stock Exchange is facilitating trading of a single share regularly in the secondary market. Presently, less than 10 units of shares are traded on Friday only. NEPSE is mechanising a system within a month under which such number of shares can be traded in other trading days as well.

"NEPSE is building the system as possibility of lesser units of share trading has increased with the dematerialisation (Demat) of physical share certificates," said Murahari Parajuli, Spokesperson of NEPSE. "Presently, the less than 10 units of shares are traded through Odd Lot on Fridays. However, trading of such shares is being possible on other trading days due to Demat.

According to him, a system will be built under which the trading of minimal number of shares will not influence the market price of the share. For which, NEPSE has given the system building task to YCO Pvt Ltd, local representative of Comdaq.
