December 15: The British College, Kathmandu has announced the launch of The Young Entrepreneurs’ Society (YES). Issuing a press statement, the college informed that YES provides platform to transform ideas into businesses with a strong belief in ‘learning by doing’ approach. "Members of the society can capitalize knowledge by being within the society’s framework. The society actively encourages the students to take initiatives and proceed for their professional endeavour," reads the statement. According to the college, YES is run by the students and works for the students of The British College.
YES was formally launched amid a programme inaugurated by the chief guest Rajendra Khetan. He highlighted and congratulated YES team for their active initiative and spoke about Trade, Demand and supply, scope and opportunities of doing business in Nepal. Further, he gave insight on endless possibilities. Mahendra Kandel, Director of the college also attended the event. Similarly, Dr M.J Barnes, Principal of The British College gave a short speech stating the initiations taken by the students.
Young Entrepreneurs’ Society (YES) was founded by 4 Masters level students of The British College - Subhadra Shree Rajbhandari, Krishna Bahadur Singh, Safal Shrestha and Aawhan Shrestha. YES founders spoke about Sustainable approaches for society’s present and future. The event went smoothly without a glitch motivating many students to join the society. Chief Guest, Khetan became the first member of the society followed by M.J. Barnes.
