NIC ASIA Inaugurates Tree Plantation program

December 23: NIC Asia has started tree plantation program as its Corporate Social Responsibility project as declared in its 19th annual general meeting.  In the 19th AGM, the bank had declared to take up a CSR project to plant more than 7 thousand plants the current FY.  

Issuing a press statement, the bank informed of planting 200 saplings symbolic to mark National Sports 2073.  "As the plantation season will kick off only in June, remaining saplings will be planted in due time," said Santosh Rathi, Cluster Head of Biratnagar branch, NIC Asia.  

According to the statement, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed between District Sports Council, Morang and NIC ASIA whereby the District Sports council has provided specific area for tree plantation within the boundaries of cricket stadium in Baijanathpur VDC at Morang. As per the arrangement, the bank will plant 1500 saplings in the area allocated and maintain the plants for next two years whereas the District Sports Council will ensure fencing and security required to safeguard the plants.
