January 8: The ‘CAN Softech-2017’ organised by the Federation of Computer Association Nepal (CAN Federation) in Kathmandu concluded on Friday. Yomari Software was the sponsor of the one-day software expo.
According to Binod Dhakal, President of CAN Federation, the event was organised to promote Nepali software companies. Speaking at the programme, Chief Secretary Somlal Subedi, said that the technology should also be extended to other districts beside Kathmandu.
Saying that the technology was essential for the development of the country, he suggested the CAN Federation to take leadership for the same. A total of nine software companies participated in the expo.
“Nepali companies are able to develop any kind of software for BFIs at a time when the Indian companies are dominating the software sector in Nepal,” said Umesh Kumar Raghubansi, CEO of the Info Developers.
