January 30: Federation of CAN is organising two-days 17th ICT Conference in Hotel Soaltee in the capital. Surendra Karki, Communication and Information Minister inaugurated the conference 'Information and Communication Technology for Sustainable Development (ICT for SD)'.
On the occasion, Minister Karki stated that ICT is an important tool for the development of the country without deteriorating natural resources. He said "The government is ready to set the role of ICT while making developmental strategies and plan of the country. I am ready to co-ordinate with CAN Federation to prepare a base for encourage ICT entrepreneur in the country."
Meanwhile, En Binod Dhakal, President of CAN Federation said that the federation is eyeing government support to transform Nepal into E-Nepal. The conference is scheduled to make presentation on smart agriculture, smart health, smart education and smart tourism from international experts of related field for sustainable development.
