April 4: Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has entered into an agreement to promote Nepal’s tourism through worldwide recognized international media and travel agencies.
The Board entered in an agreement on April 3 in Kathmandu with BBC, Reuters and Trip Advisor to promote Nepali tourism worldwide.
Deepak Raj Joshi, CEO of the NTB, Bishal Vatnagar, South Asia Director of BBC, Bharat Nath Pal, South Asia Director of Trip Advisor and SN Bhaduri, South Asia Director of Reuters signed the agreement to this effect.
Under the agreement, the officials of Reuters will come to Nepal, prepare tourism-related materials and broadcast them.
Similarly, BBC and Trip Advisor will highlight and broadcast the tourism materials prepared by Nepal Tourism Board. The Board agreed to pay 650,000 USD to BBC for six months, 75,000 USD to Reuters for three months and 250,000 USD to Trip Advisor for one year, according to the agreement.
According to the Tourism Board, it has allocated Rs 142.5 million for worldwide promotion of Nepali tourism. The stories prepared by these international media on Nepal’s tourism will be broadcast as per the agreement within a few days.
