April 4: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has officially started the sale of Euro 4 standard petroleum products in the Nepali market.
According to Sitaram Pokharel, Spokesperson of the Corporation, the sale of Euro 4 standard gasolines started on April 3 though it was informed to be made available from April 2.
The corporation has started the sale of new standard petroleum products in Kathmandu, Pokhara, Bhairahawa, Biratnagar and Jhapa from April 3.
Similarly, spokesperson Pokharel said that new standard gasoline will be available throughout the country from April 4.
According to the corporation, Euro 4 standard fuels are available in the market at the existing price of petrol per liter Rs 101.50 and diesel per liter Rs 77.50.
The agreement to distribute Euro 4 standard fuel in Nepal was reached in mid-November with Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), but was finalized a week ago while renewing the five-year fuel purchase agreement between Nepal and India.
The corporation claims that the new standard fuels are of better quality and minimize pollution.
Likewise, it will provide more mileage to the vehicles and give longer life to vehicles. Euro 3 standard fuel has 150 PPM sulfur whereas Euro 4 standard fuel has only 50 PPM sulfur, the corporation informed.
