APP Fails, ADS Being Finalised

Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives has planned 20-years Agriculture Development Strategy (ADS) to promote and develop the agriculture sector. This long term strategy is being devised after the failure of Agriculture Perspective Plan (APP) to meet its goals.

Deependra Bahadur Kshetry, Vice Chairman of National Planning Commission said that the APP was failure mainly because of the political disturbances during its implementation days and lack of budget. He also said that the ADS is being prepared as agriculture is too important to be left out just because of the failure of a plan. According to Kshetry implementation ADS will start right after the completion of current three years plan.
