April 13: Federation of Nepal Cottage and Small Industries (FNCSI) is going to organize ‘Nepal 13th International Trade Fair and Innovation Expo 2074’. The event will kick-off on 20th to 24th April in Exhibition Hall of Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu, informed the organizers in a press meet on April 12.

In the meet, Shyam Prasad Giri, President of FNCSI said “The expo aims to promote high-tech technology in the small industries of the country.” “The expo will prioritize all researches, investigations and inventions in the expo,” claimed Giri.  “Nepal lacks use of advanced technology in small and cottage industry. Moreover, the various equipments and technologies developed by Nepali Young Scientists and Researchers also lack promotion and competitiveness. Thus, the expo will aid in sustainable and institutional development of small and cottage industries. It will also promote the technology developed in the nation,” he added.

Various countries including China, India, Bangladesh and Pakistan will participate in the expo, said the organizer. The organizer informed that participant countries will showcase technologies developed in their respective countries.

Moreover, a separate employment expo will be organized in the expo to bridge the information pool between employers and unemployed youth.

As per the federation, there will be participants from all 75 districts of the country. Among the total 236 stalls, 60 stalls will house innovative technology researchers while 35 stalls will house women entrepreneurs.  Similarly, 10 stalls will showcase industries of forests and agriculture and the rest are designated to the various stakeholders of small industries.
