PE Board Formed

The government has finally decided to form public enterprises (PE) board that was under consideration for two years. Cabinet meeting on December 1 endorsed Public Enterprises Direction Board (Formation and Working Procedure) Directive.

The Board is for making policies concerning the public enterprises as well as for restructuring, monitoring and evaluation of such enterprises. The Board also holds the right to make and implement HR policies in the PEs. Formation of the Board was promised in the budget speech of fiscal year 2009/10.
